For me, writing is exploration; and most of the time, I'm surprised where the journey takes me. -Jack Dann
I watch wayyy too much TLC. Say Yes to the Dress, What Not to Wear, Sister Wives, Hoarders, you name it, I watch it. Help Me…
HAHAHA! I read this and thought it was a joke. If a guy called me at 3am to tell me he loved me….he’d be dead.

The Newest Addition to my Bucket List:
to go see the music gardens in Toronto, Canada. We learned about this place in my humanities class today. Yo-Yo Ma and a very talented landscape architect (can’t remember her name.) worked to build this garden inspired by Bach’s 6 cello suites. Those are some of my favorite pieces to listen to! This was the best picture I could find of the Garden, but there are some really awesome features about it that perfectly illustrate Bach’s suites. They have all kinds of attractions here, an ice skating rink, shops, concerts, festivals, etc. It sounds SO much fun. Someday I’ll be walking down the pathways of the garden hand in hand with the love of my life, hearing background music from a nearby band, and going to buy a souvenir :)

Today, while packing up my dorm, I found my old red wallet that I had used over the course of the end of my senior year and summer break. I expected it to be empty, but when I opened it I found so many little things that brought back some precious memories. It sent me into a world of Nostalgia.
-I found at least 3 check stubs from job at Diane’s Hallmark. All written in Gary’s handwriting! I was also appalled, after adding up the amount of money I had gotten from those checks, that I, at one point had that amount of money just sitting in my bank account.
-There was also a receipt from a purchase that I made AT hallmark, buying my black purse that I love so very very much. It was funny to read it, to see the “employee discount” at the bottom.
-There was a shopping list included in the little stack of papers, one that my Mom had given me to run some errands for her.
-I found a receipt from a trip to Wal-Mart that Nicole and I had taken right before we went to Las Vegas for the Paul McCartney concert. We bought so many random things! Salt and Vinegar chips and caramel corn is a perfect combo for a road trip in our opinions :)
-Also from the Vegas trip was a receipt from the random little place we ate dinner! Nicole ate at subway, and I ate a sketchy little pizza place where I ordered a 7” supreme pizza.
All these things sound like such little memories that don’t really matter. They didn’t really matter to me. The check stubs from hallmark was just a weekly routine and the snacks before las vegas was something building up to an amazing memory. finding these receipts and looking through them and remembering the fun memories helped me to remember the little things in life are sometimes more important than the big picture.
and that about sums up my first semester of college.

I’m finally starting to feel like this. It’s taken a few months, but it’s getting there. I’m seeing my life unfold right before my eyes, and I think I like it :)
